KY-031 Knock Sensor Module
= Impact and Vibration Detection Module for Arduino and Microcontrollers =
The KY031 is a simple and reliable knock sensor module designed to detect physical impacts, taps, and vibrations. It is ideal for projects requiring shake or knock detection, such as interactive installations, security systems, and doorknock sensors .
Simple Digital Output - Provides a digital signal when a knock is detected.
Easy Integration Standard 3pin interface compatible with Arduino, ESP32, and PIC.
The sensor operates on 3.3V to 5V DC and provides a digital output .
By default, the output is HIGH. When a knock is detected, the output goes LOW or provides a brief pulse .
Use a microcontroller pin with an external interrupt for reliable knock detection.
= Technical Specifications =
| Parameter | Value |
|---|
| Operating Voltage | 3.3V to 5V DC |
| Output Type | Digital (HIGH / LOW) |
| Default Output State | HIGH (LOW on detection) |
| Dimensions | ~27mm x 15mm |
| Hole Fixing | Bolt holes for easy installation |
The module consists of a spring and a center post. When a vibration is sufficient, the spring moves and momentarily shorts the two contacts, generating a signal pulse . Its sensitivity can be adjusted based on the mounting position .
